Re: Octane Dirt
Thats one nice material, great use of dirt, I guess the performance hit is an issue but also unwrapping a model like that would be time consuming too.

Re: Octane Dirt
Nice looking dirt,
It will be interesting to see how many features Octane Dirt has, Streaks, inverted normals, direction bias ?

Re: FxGuide about Octane
This one is killer, a couple of dollars per hour using Tens of thousands of GPU's, I could render an 8k still in a secondsdarkline wrote:Thanks Sealikon
Tens of thousand of GPU's for cloud rendering in the future - aiming to beat the price of a couple of $ per hour
Great find.

Re: "warning render failed" maybe solved
I wish this worked for me, but no luck.
I think its something in my scene thats causing the "render fail" error.
Something I've un-hid, its an old scene that I'm converting over to Octane.
The thing with this crash, I have to restart 3dsmax to get Octane working again.

Re: OctaneRender delivers from the cloud at the D10 Conferen
The one thing that never gets talked about is the internet speed you need to upload gigabytes of textures and models to the cloud.
Here in Australia internet connections are pretty slow and the upload speeds are even slower, until we fiber to home the cloud isn't going to be very efficient.

Are Invisibility tracks supported ?
Hi,
I was just wondering what animation features are supported in the 3dsmax plugin ?
Is there a list ?
One thing I need is invisibility tracks.

Re: Mental ray textures not working?
I was lead to believe that too, i thought Octane could internally use Mental ray materials and Vray not just a simple material converter.
I the only real Mental ray Material worth supporting is the Arch&Design shader.
