I know this Thread is kind of dead but:
I'm having problems using the renderOctane command in Rhino4 since a while. It always ends in an error-message (already an Octane window) regarding the position of the camera ( --cam-x). I guess octane changed something internally in some update.

Just noticed and adding to instruction:
If Rhino is running a language (e.g.german) where decimal place is divided by a comma, export won't work because camera position isn't parsed correctly.
At least in my installation
