Spline ramp in gradient?
Is it possible to have spline ramp as option in gradient node? Or to have it as a separate node?
I think it is much more intuitive for adjusting float values than gradient node.

Re: Packed geo instancing + alembic crashes houdini
Yes, I figured out that packed objects work. But, from the production perspective, it would be better if alembic works. Is there a reason why the plugin do not recognize alembic but do recognize when the geo is packed in scene? There is so many scenarios where streaming alembic from disc. AFAK, most ...

Packed geo instancing + alembic crashes houdini
Hello,
There is a crash when Packed geo instancing property is turned on, and there is alembic file inside geo node. Error says it's Houdini memory allocation problem.
The point is that I have a scenario where I load alembic in geo node, and do simple rotational transform. Imagine car wheel ...

Re: SLOW / Not Responsive Integration ?
Ok,
We have some fast moving jackets in shots and motion blur kills the scene, it gets extremely slow, CPU jumps up on 100% and often scene crashes.
Maybe I could supply you guys with some repro scene for check-out?
Cheers.
Ivan

Re: SLOW / Not Responsive Integration ?
Sometimes I just can't move a light in the viewport while it is rendering, and it takes sometime, and all of a sudden at some point it starts working normally.
It is hard to reproduce the issue.

Could you share OSL sample displacement for us to play with in standalone?

Hi,
I still see this same problem with 2021 under Houdini plugin. Any news?
Thanks.

Cryptomatte changes all the time
Hi guys,
Whenever we update render version from octane cryptomattes change(no changes in materials or geometry being made)
I'm talking CryptoMaterialNode in this specific case.
When we render same file on two different PC's we have different cryptomattes.
It is rather irritating for compositing ...
