Re: To Titan X users. Help

I also have this problem. Standalone.

2 Titan X in SLI mode and without switching to single cards and changing priorities or off doesn't help.

Driver 364.72 on a 5960X with 64 RAM on Windows 10. Latest Alpha build 8 I tried. Happens on Catmull Clarked, raw, or displaced geometry. It also leaves ...

Re: Catmull Clarked Polylimit on 2 X Titan X 12GB?

I did some tests with 2.8 GB obj meshes and 2.2 GB meshes generated by Incendia 5 a totally differented process from above.

I generate them as STL and clean up in Meshlab (non manifold edges, Quadratic Edge reduction Laplace smoothing.

In above example meshes are generated by ZBrush and one by ...

Re: Catmull Clarked Polylimit on 2 X Titan X 12GB?

It fails while SLI is on and off and with one or the other card active and on priority. I also used a try with just active and no priority.

I attached HW Monitor report (NOT active during other trials) of a fail with one card active (shows two have 84% mem usage ) and smbus report.

I also noticed ...

Catmull Clarked Polylimit on 2 X Titan X 12GB?

I have read several threads on polylimits. The info in them did not really help, it seems. One guy seems to have hit the roof at 40 million.

This is not critical, I am just interested what I can achieve with Octane 3.

I generally tried the polylimit by upping up the catmull clark in the object ...

Re: OctaneRender™ Standalone v1.10

I seem to have the problem that smoothing has a problem in V1.1 compared to V 1.0. I have tried to play round with the setting in the option dialog and under preferences. The first two are from a loaded file from version 1.0.

Upper two pictures have a mixed material of car paint and leather

In the ...

Re: My efforts on DAZ Stephanie

Also peoples faces in pictures even though not moving don't look as stiff.

Thats a huge thing always overlooked with poser type cookie cutter models.

There just ins't enough nuances to make it look real and it comes of as stiff.
Even the ones they do have always come off as stiff and unrealistic ...

Re: As I walk the uncanny valley of the shadow of death

Another try :) More real human texture

The thumb looks worse ..

Anyway as some people suggested here I toned down the specular and added a face expression.

I am also at the end of what my 470 can handle texture wise and loading more complicated HDRs crashes Octane ...
