Guys, when I wrote what I did above, I intended it to be my last post here on the Octane forums, because, like I said, I have better things to do. However, I was very curious to see what others were saying about LW being dead etc...
After reading a couple posts by folks that are seemingly in an ...

Re: LW 2021 plugin, where are you?
Yo! This is my first time posting in ages! I actually saw a link to this thread on the blenderartist forum. (I have been a fully 100% Blender/E-Cycles guy for a couple years now.) My initial reaction for a minute or so was a tinge of sadness that LW and Octane LW is officially dead, per Juanjo, but ...

Re: Makes sense to switch back to Octane Blender
Okay. Octane's more real than real. Kinda like "more human than human". Gotcha.Obizzz wrote:It might not be by much but Octane still beats Cycles when it comes to realism.

Re: Makes sense to switch back to Octane Blender
Octane is way faster than E-Cycles, the AI Denoiser is doing an amazing job, there's NVLink and RTX support and a lot of optimizations you can only find in the OTOY Blender custom build.
Especially with this new release, I feel we reached an extremely exciting productivity level.
That's a bold ...

Re: OctaneRender 4.05 for LightWave Production build 4.05.0.0
Kevin in Support got me fixed. Apparently I grabbed the Studio version of 4.05 by accident... Yeah, I'm a dumbass.

Re: OctaneRender 4.05 for LightWave Production build 4.05.0.0
Whew! Thanks for helping so fast bro! I didn't have a 4.05 Standalone installed.. I will try to roll that back right now. I didn't think SA even needed to be installed... I'll report back. Wish me luck.

Re: OctaneRender 4.05 for LightWave Production build 4.05.0.0
I am trying to roll back to 4.05 since I let my AA sub expire and do not intend to keep it... Was I supposed to deactivate my license before I deleted my 2019.3 plug and replaced it with 4.05? I can not get this mother****ing working no matter what I try. When I try to Activate I keep getting the ...

Re: OctaneRender 2019.1 LightWave Production build 2019.1.4.0
Thanks J! Yeah, rolling back to 4 should be quick and easy, and I'll need to do that anyway, so that's what I'll do, and test a couple. Had you answered that Octane 2019 LWS files would absolutely not open with Octane 4 LW, or I'd have major problems, I'd have no choice but to renew my sub, or buy a ...

Re: OctaneRender 2019.1 LightWave Production build 2019.1.4.0
If I saved jobs with Octane 2019 for LW, would I be able to open it in Octane 4 for LW?.. Or am I going to run into problems? I ask, because I am not planning on renewing my Enterprise subscription, and just going with Octane 4 for old jobs. I'm hoping that I will still be able to open the LWS files ...
