Perfect example is here.
On the section in project settings, it asks you to select the location of the ocio.config file, and then once selected, to set the render spaces to ACES2065-1. The problem is, that's only selectable BEFORE you enter the config location. Once you enter the config location ...

I've tried to set up ACES multiple times using the linked method, and it never works.
Hi everyone. I'm on C4D 2025.2, and Octane 1.5.1.1, and I am having no luck getting ACES to work correctly. I am using the following guide: https://help.otoy.com/hc/en-us/articles/12818430938651-Octane-ACES-OCIO-User-Guide-for-Cinema-4D
I have followed this guide to the letter, multiple times, and ...

Any idea what causes this pixallation in the render when adding a noise node to bump:
If you look along the bottom left and top right portions of this screen grab, you can see weird artifacting that matches the topology of the mesh. It only appears when using a noise node in the bump channel. Is there a way to counteract this?

Re: Displacement -> baking texture node causes displacement to disappear on update
Hi Bepe,
Problem with that is the displacement then adds 3 million polys to the mesh, which was previously only 200k. Increasing the poly count of my mesh by 10x because of a software bug seems excessive, no? Or am I missing something about Vertext displacement that prevents such huge increases in ...

Displacement -> baking texture node causes displacement to disappear on update
Hi there
I'm having a problem I can't seem to fix. I'm trying to map a displacement onto a mesh, and I don't want the displacement to repeat or tile, so I'm piping it into a baking texture node. Doing so displays the displacement, however, the moment I make a single change to the baking node in ...

Solo Node doesn't work with composite material
Is there a way to get Solo Node to work while using composite materials? It works perfectly for normal materials, but anything else, if I press D, it shifts to solo for a split second and then turns off again.

Re: Vertex displacement performance unusable. What am I doing wr
Sorry, I have to come back and repeat that I am so grateful for your advice, it's made vertex displacements completely useable for me and has transformed how I'm building organic textures. You're amazing. Thank you!

Re: Vertex displacement performance unusable. What am I doing wr
Hi mate, thank you for the response, what you say makes sense. I dropped by samples down to 8, and it has definitely made an improvement in responsiveness. The reason for using vertex displacement is because I need to create a texture that requires the noise node, and whenever I use it with a baking ...

Re: Vertex displacement performance unusable. What am I doing wr
Hi sorry, I didn't realise soeone had replied. That link doesn't work for me unfortunately.
I can handle not being able to mix displacements, to be honest, my main bugbear is that I can't figure out how to make Vertex Displacement useable.
