The only sure way to unlock 3ds max is to open octane VP, however, if my license is stolen by my laptop, and the laptop isn't where I am(at work), then octane will spit out an error where it says that license isn't activated on the work computer. it completely broke down my 3ds Max, I now have to run it as administrator, so I can only open scenes if I open a fresh Max, otherwise I get a shit ton of errors for missing files/plugins/dlls and what not. I also constantly have to re-do the UI because it resets to default.

Okay so after a bit more tweaking I restarted the laptop in D-GPU only mode and now it seems to work, though only on 2025.2, other versions don't seem to work and Nvidia is clearly seeing some issue regardless as seen in the picture:
