Re: glas and pathtracing error

Hi there,
there are errors and it doesn't looks good (octane wersion 0.81a) and i don't know how to change transparency of the material. If you can you can make short tutorial how to made a realistic glass.

You change the transparency by adjusting the Kd value, which by default is a color. Set ...

Re: architecture exterior daylight shot

Currently there no physical sky implemented yet, only hdr based rendering.
But if you find the images too dark, you will like octane since it provides realtime control about the rendering image on physical level (Gamma, exposure, iso, fstop)

Re: No rendering today...

Very nice, but i have some small thing to mention:

The silhouette of you character is a little off, because both upper arms are at the same spot (looks like 2 lower arms from one upperarm), maybe turn them or the entire upper body of the character a little more so the shape is more readable ...

Re: Octane 1.0 Beta 1 Overview Video Posted

Nah ^^ only faster maybe

Btw.. im not used to unbiased spectral renderer (since they are slow as a slug on ice) but i noticed the node type "gaussianspectrum" which seems a littel broken right now (the purple color stays the same ? )
Is this the type for the later implemented emissive color slot ...

Re: Octane 1.0 Beta 1 Overview Video Posted

Actually there is no bump support but spec can be loaded as a map, since you have a material with that property.

Regarding float .. with the not-yet-activated node system, the use of other float values is rather useless.
Float itself is just a representation of a floating point number.

Other ...

Re: alpha mapping preview

Nvidia and ATI simply have opposite expectations about the green channel representing the x-axis.
Nvidia assumes its facing downwards while ATI wants it to point upwards.. the reason is not to my knowledge.
Red is mostly untouched, but even that can be messed up by some exotic tools.

One of the ...

Re: alpha mapping preview

This is more a problem of having no real standard as how the normalmap channels are pointing , even worse, ATI and Nvidia had those different implemented which caused that stupid invert red/green channel problem .. same with game engines .. Id Software used the same as nvidia, while Crytek decided ...
