Re: Victoria 6 - Octane Standalone

Has this skin texture been deleted from the live database? I can only find one titled "D.Ordiales - Skin V6" not "D.Ordiales - Skin V6 II" as in your screenshots.

Re: Victoria 6 - Octane Standalone

Thanks so much for the info. I'd been importing as centimeters and it was throwing everything off. If I used enough light to get good results on the skin everything else in the scene would be washed out.

Kudos to you for your efforts and kind replies! :D :D :D

Re: Victoria 6 - Octane Standalone

Can you share your settings for daz export and octane import scaling? I still get a very dark skin tone and I think it has to do with the scale settings I'm using for both export and import.

Re: OctaneRender™ Standalone 1.52 [current stable]

Is this a bug?

File > Preferences > Geometry Import

Tick box "Edit settings for new geometry"

Right click in node graph, > Geometry > Mesh

Select obj file in OS dialog

It just imports the file without opening the Geometry dialog.

Re: tonysculptor Skin updated for Octane 1.5

I think I might have found my problem. When plugging an rgb image into the texture node it defaults to having a gamma value of 2.2. Setting it to 1 helps a lot. I'm still getting tons of bright red hotpixels though, so I think I might be also having problems with my imported mesh scaling.

Thanks ...

Re: tonysculptor Skin updated for Octane 1.5

Can you give us a clue as to your lighting set up? When I use your skin, it always comes out very dark and reddish, no matter what image I place in the color node. So I was thinking it might be the kind or intensity of light I'm using.

Re: Skin Rendering

This is a complex material (4 layered materials) so I would expect it to be slow. On my next project I will work on a simpler, more performance friendly version. Below are my render settings...

Thanks for that :D

By the way, have I mentioned you're a material rockstar! This has to be one of the ...

Re: Skin Rendering

Is there any chance we might get a listing or screenshot of your preview kernel settings? I think I might be doing something wrong, but using this material more than doubles my render times. I'm getting about .31 Ms/Sec.
