Re: OctaneRender® for Maya® v1.11b beta [CURRENT]

hi,

the addition of the dirt map is pretty great. i just have a hard time setting it up the right way. as soon as an object gets smooth i get dark areas around my edges. is there a problem with my normals or is there something else i'm doing wrong?

Re: Batch Render -- different issues?

unfortunately the content of the scene is convinced. i just had a friend write me a small script that let's me render sequences without using the batch render plugin (it just renders into the render view windoe and then saves the image). that seems to work for now. thanks for the help.

Re: Batch Render -- different issues?

ok. i just don't completely understand how the verbose mode works. i thought it gives feedback trough the command line/script editor. because when i turn it on, i just get my normal maya batch feedback and a render complete message as soon as it fails. does it store a separate crash file somewhere ...

Re: Batch Render -- different issues?

i still got some batch render problems (almost for 3 month now). i always switched back to other renderers when it occurred but i still want to use octane for some jobs but as long as these problems keep popping up i think it's to risky for me.
so i tried to render a kind of big scene from a ...

Re: octane render with deadline (or other render manager)

i already tried to do that. although the scene is in fact kind of massive i tried to use instancing to get rid of memory problems (at the moment i'm using about 1500 of my 2048mb gpu memory). like others i currently have the problem that my batch render just stops at a random point. i'm not even ...

octane render with deadline (or other render manager)

hi,

since i ,like some other people, currently got problems rendering sequences with normal batch render, i wondered if anyone has experience with redering octane pictures over a render manager. i tired to render a file via deadline, but that always seems to switch the render engine to maya ...
