I guess one other question I have, to anyone working like this...Is there possibly a way you can still make use of Maya for your scene building, but keep the look dev and materials etc in standalone and just send everything to Maya? Sorry for the noob questions but it's a bit all new to me, thanks!

Thanks for the response. I had read a lot about that as well so was hesitant to get the Maya plugin.
Perhaps it's easy enough going from Maya to C4d at this point, or just using standalone. Thanks again!

Should I upgrade to latest version for Maya?
Forgive me if this may seem silly. I originally had Octane 1.55 and haven't used it in some time but considering going back to Octane now to the latest version..how worth it is it? Also isn't 4 coming out sometime soon and maybe better to wait? I'd love to hear your thoughts...I mostly do still ...

Hey there, does anyone know if there is a way to export camera data from octane to maya? I have tried searching and havent come up with much. I realize with using the maya plugin this wouldnt probably be an issue but I am using standalone and need to export the cameras to maya to test something, can ...

Problem with octane maya plugin
I set up a scene from scratch and it works fine. But in a more complex scene, I cant get octane to render, I get this red error // Error: Octane: Error mesh export. Octane render stopped.

Ok im an idiot. The plugin was loaded but auto load was not checked, I didnt think that mattered by when I checked it. Things seem to work again. thanks for your responses.

Maya plugin not working
I had the plugin work for me before, but I had to reinstall maya, now when I reinstall the plugin, it doesnt work. I get errors like:
// Error: line 1: Cannot find procedure "octaneCamera".

etc, tried uninstalling and reinstalling, not really ...
