Maya OSX question or ALEMBIC or COLLADA standalone import

What is are the possibilities to export animation on OSX from maya to octane ? Cause the plugin is win only right now, or ?

AND VERY IMPORTANT:
What about Collada or Alembic formats for animation ? What is the progress right now ? Time expectation.

Re: Guys, PLEASE help :-)

]ok, maybe i didnt said it right

if you can make a shadow catcher that would be great for layers

but in my second post above, i was talking about final render in octane (compositing) for the gain of GI/reflections/caustics interaction with the projection.

If you could implement this too beside a ...

Maybe that helps better too... new idea...

Following would be even better for shadows!

 imagine a ground plane on which from the camera angle is projected the BG image 1:1, so that the ground plane is textured trough projection and
(best of all) 1. no need for shadow catcher, 2. the ground plane would color-GI the 3D models and 3 ...

 Big Idea, maybe it helps :-)

OK Guys, i have an idea, maybe you could give it a try...

Maybe im talking BS :-P but better to say it, maybe this would be THE solution for the fireflies as well as for way faster GI (if it works).

Is it possible to modify the kernel so that it makes an interpolated MonteCarlo pathtracing for GI ...

Guys, PLEASE help :-)

Make a shadow/matte material solution for compositing.

I know that the Monte Carlo rayshooting isnt suited for that, BUT, you could make a  backplane that stays parallel to the camera, and as the shadowonly shader you could use an alpha based material that gets the shadow samples, but ...

BIG WISH

Hello,

first thank you for this beatiful program :-).
I wonder if there is possible to send fewer rays for the GI and caustics tracing and to interpolate/blur them.
It would be biased i know, but hell fast, also the animation would have fewer noise. :-)
