Sorry for the confusion! I'm still having the issue. This post is entirely about setting up volumes with the daylight environment node alone. The fog volume box you found in the blend file is from an older experiment that I forgot to delete.

I'm not using the volume box to set up fog at all

Hi Andreas_Resch, I think that was an old fog box I'm not using anymore. I'm just trying to use the medium on the daylight environment at the moment at the moment

I'm experimenting with mediums and daylight environments to create fog/atmospheric perspective effects. I have some questions about the process:

1) Medium Radius: I'm guessing this is the sphere around the camera inside which ALL volume calculations will be made. What is the unit used here ...

Thank you SO much. It's working now. Blender octane is still pointing to the original AgX. Is it ok if I leave it there or should it also be pointed to this AgXc?

I decided to give Fusion 9 a shot. I don't think I need anything more than putting together render passes and color grading them. I'm sure Fusion 9 has those features!

Extract slope info for texturing

Hi all,

Is there a solution for extracting the slope info from a mesh? I'm asking so I can create a mask based on the slope at all points on a mesh. I would like something like this for texturing terrains. Thanks!

I think I figured out the issue. The tree mesh was duplicated three times. I guess I should have noticed earlier that the read out said 29 M polygons instead of 9 million polygon. This happened with two different trees that I'd used. One made by me in speedtree and other downloaded from maxtree. Did ...

I was fortunate enough to update my PC to a newer graphics card and the issue completely disappeared. So I guess this issue got resolved, in a way?

Thank you for the suggestions on how to troubleshoot this, if this happens again.
