Hi BK
I had been testing with Bifrost 2.5 and based on your reply, switched to Bifrost 2.4 which works!
I'll wrap this into the env we use and go from there.
I greatly appreciate the prompt reply.
Thanks again.

Hi BK
We are seeing this issue as well - Unable to dynamically load OctanePlugin.mll
We moved to Maya 2022, and have moved to zero-install packages across our network for easier deployment. Which means Maya is not installed per-machine, but rather copied to each machine.
The issue is that Octane ...

Re: Farming jobs via Deadline - Octane not activating
@SimonPercy
Thanks for clarifying.
I have never installed standalone on this machine. I exclusively use the Maya interface to Octane.
I'll have a look at what you're suggesting, and see if that helps.

Re: Farming jobs via Deadline - Octane not activating
I found a solution to the issue I've been having:
DO NOT USE OCTANE IN PRODUCTION.
Yup, sadly my favourite renderer is not ready for the big-time. It's a great toy to play with, but it simply is not a production ready tool.
The bugs are numerous, and the 'support' is the worst I've experienced ...

Re: Farming jobs via Deadline - Octane not activating
Maya open, Maya closed - it doesn't make any difference.
I would be alarmed if having Maya open mattered, as I have a license for my machine.
Does anyone know of a better way to contact the devs? Eg, ticket generation?

Hi Simon
Thanks for your reply.
Can you please re-word your question? I'm not sure what you are suggesting.

Farming jobs via Deadline - Octane not activating
Hi
I have 1 machine; my workstation.
I use Deadline farm management for handling my batch jobs.
I simply cannot get Octane to work as a batch process through Deadline.
My machine is licensed.
I use Maya. The plugin is licensed and works.
Everything works when doing IPR renders within Maya ...

Re: photorealism in octane
Thanks for the feedback guys :)
@glimpse
The scene was never meant to be 'creepy', and I completely forget that at first glance it probably looks that way. Though I had a picture in my mind of a 'lost cave' filled with 'something'. The idea was to illuminate that 'something' through cracks in the ...

photorealism in octane
Hi.
It's been over a year since I last had some fun with Octane, but recently I found a little time to have another go.
The goal this time was a series of images designed to push realism in lighting, while trying to achieve a 'photographed' look.
The plan was to use a single setup, which was lit ...

Re: Fulldome camera lens (180° spherical fisheye cam)
Okay, zipped up the files.
The setup is very simple and it comprises of an approximated front lens element from an 8mm fisheye lens. Because the Octane pinhole camera takes care of focus/fov etc, you only need one lens element to make this work.
When using the Octane plugin, you can parent the ...
