I have a script that makes it slightly more easy, but I have no idea where I gotten it so I'll attach it here. It allows you to select two nodes and then auto-make a connection.
I'd love to know if there are similar scripts to this out there

I'm making a small tool where you import an OCS file, and it then looks up all the stuff used and provides information on used files so you can optimise where it counts.

Did some tests and although it's not perfect, I guess it's pretty close....
