If I understand right, you basically want Octane to support HDR color space workflow inside the engine itself without having to export an EXR and process the color space to something else ?
Because that's basically what the "Filmic" thing you posted is doing by using OpenColorIO.
You can do the ...

Re: is Brigade using PBR materials - YES or NO?
What do you mean by PBR?
PBR on video games is just the metallic workflow from Disney then approximated BRDF functions and more for real-time.
As the metallic workflow assumes that every non-dielectric materials have a fresnel of 0.04 and metalness is controlled by albedo and specular, it does ...

Try to add some SSAO on your scene now to make it less flat on some areas

Re: GDC 2016 - McLaren + Unreal Engine 4
When you render just a car, you can go nuts anyway in terms of quality / tech that you can use just to make it pretty. :P
Pretty sure you can do the same on Unity quite fast too, as long as you have a proper car paint shader.

Re: OTOY @ SIGGRAPH 2015
Aha!
Thanks. :)
It really needs to be experienced to fully understand the potential of it, no words can clearly describe it. I still haven't tried it myself, but since I have tried many other VR experience in real-time, where you can move freely into a VR environment, I understand how cool this ...

Re: OctaneVR reveiled by Otoy
Gabriele, the DK2 is an obsolete prototype, it doesn't make sense for a company to release a brand new product for that.
I'm sure once the Oculus CV1 will hit the market next year, Octane will support it. ;)
I received my DK2 kit in August 2014.

Re: Curtain Material
Use a specular material, make it a little rough to have that blurry transparency and index to 1.0 then add some scattering node.

Re: Interior Lighting with Unreal Engine
wow, I didn't realize Unreal lighting had gotten this advanced! I used to use it back in version 3 when I was still in the games industry but never was a fan of the lighting. Crytek Engine is another really powerful one that is usually ahead Unreal in terms of quality so I'd be really interested in ...
