Thanks for the positive and wonderful comments.
It's a shame not able to show the full-length of the film at this moment.
Though, I updated the post with synopsis. Hopefully that would help
the viewing experience more enjoyable with supplementary context/ information.

"Hark the Angel Sings" Short Film Completed
Hi All,
"Hark the Angel Sings" is a 6 minutes personal short film that I had been working for 4 years, and it is finally done in 2012.
The film is 95% percent rendered in Octane Render, and post-processed in Adobe AfterEffects.
Due to the fact it is in festival run, I can only show a small part of ...

Re: Dialogue Animation rendered with Octane
@sanblack:
Thanks, I appreciate the comment.
I spent quite a while polishing animation...couple weeks at least.
For rendering, I merely use direct lighting to save time, and it worked
in this case since there's no complex furnitures or props in the room.

Re: office room - study area light
Agree. Love the tree idea.
Looks good with direct lighting, and curious to see the pathtracing treatment.
Only peculiar part is that the walls seem floating abit above the floor.
cheers.

Dialogue Animation rendered with Octane
Hello,
Here's my animation with a dialogue clip from "The Dick Van Dyke Show."
Rendered with Octane still needs full attention. I applied filters, but still
need to go through frame by frame to paint away the fireflies.
Though, octane provides nice render to this piece, and I enjoy the look of it ...

Focal Depth and Center of Interest
Hi Bazuka,
I encountered two problems here, which you might be able to solve.
1.
I animate Focal Depth attribute in the plugin, which it also links to the maya camera's Focal Lenth .
Say I have 10 frames to render. If I render manually frame 1 and frame 10, I see the change of Focal Depth.
However ...

Re: noise in dark areas
I am curious about this too. See if there's a way to handle dark scene more efficiently.
It's especially critical for high contrast/ dramatic style shots, say film-noir look would benefit from the improvement.
Any suggestion of work-around would be much appreicated.
Best,
Thomas

Cool, thanks for the link Beppe, it solved the material problem, the chance of crash reduces much, and the materials do stick to the scene.bepeg4d wrote:
