Hi Andreas
I suggest testing with both renderers, however 'yes', the OctaneRender is the more important one to test.
Thanks

Hi Andreas
I found a timing issue related to the generating of thumbnails and the opening of the OctaneRender viewport. Are you able to try this version please a tell me if it fixes your issue?

Some more info on this....
If the crash reports I have in my inbox are yours, then it is definitely happening when generating the thumbnail. I have tried reproducing the crash using your scene in Rhino8, but cannot get the crash to happen, even when generating large thumbnails.

Re: OctaneRender 2025 for Rhino (TEST and STABLE)
Hi Andreas
I suspect this might be related to the thumbnail generation in Rhino. Can you please turn off thumbnail generation and tell me if it resolves your issue?
Are you using Rhino7 or Rhino8?
Thanks

This seems to be working for me.
The backplate only shows where there is no geometry. Is it possible you have the ground plane enabled?

Re: make a mesh invisible to camera?
also, just testing this again and i don't think either Clay or Colored Clay work when the Polygon Side Invert is enabled.
in fact i'd guess that Clay or Colored Clay work the same way and this may be the reason why Polygon Side isn't working as expected in this case in Clay mode (trying to make a ...

Re: remember kernel settings when switching between kernels
Apologies for the late reply - I missed the email notification.
Yes, Kernel Switch would solve this. However the switch nodes are implemented in Octane in a fashion which is not compatible to the plugin, so unfortunately they are not supported.
Thanks
Paul
