Yes, that would be even better than sketchup (although I would prefer the arrow keys) because there you have to change to "look around" mode to look around.
So:
up: forward
shift-up: up
down: back
shift-down: down
left: turn left
shift-left: pan left
right: turn right
shift-right: pan left
with ...
