I'm still using version 3, so that explains why the bug is still in there!
But as I understand it, putting the UV for displacement in slot 1 is a perfectly good workaround, right?

Re: Displacement wrong placement - any ideas why?
Hi Juan,
No transformation in the UV map parameters. However, I discovered the error today: the displacement keeps using UV map 1, even though you specify UV map 2 in the texture sampler node.
This causes the wrong mapping, and the disconnect between diffuse mapping and displacement mapping: the ...

Re: Displacement wrong placement - any ideas why?
Is that the same Promity from the Kray forum? If so, hi Promity! Nice to meet you here as well
The model has UV texture coordinates - as is visible from the mapping of the texture on the diffuse channel. Or did you mean something else?

Displacement wrong placement - any ideas why?
Hi!
I have a displacement behaving weirdly, and I can't seem to figure out why... The attached screenshot shows a circular mapping, with the letter N in the middle. The image is placed correctly in the diffuse channel, but the same texture hooked up to displacement is placed and scaled wrongly ...

Can you get textures OUT of liveDB materials?
For some reason I'm trying to get the bump map "Gold_Foil_B.jpg" out of a liveDB material. Is there a way to do this?
I can edit the material just fine from LW, but I can't find a way to get the image file OUT of the node setup so I can use it myself.

Displacement always driving me crazy!
Hi all,
I seem to run into the same problem with displacements on glass every time, and it's driving me nuts!
1) I make my model, surfaces, scene and lighting. Everything looks great.
2) Then I apply displacement without texture - everything still looks great.
3) I put in a texture and BOOM! My ...

Bump strenght - I'm missing something super-obvious!
Hi,
I'm making some cardboard boxes, super-simple stuff. But I can't seem to figure out how to reduce the bump strength of the procedural bump texture I have!
How do I do this? I have a noise texture feeding into the bump channel, all working well, but contrary to my expectations, neither contrast ...

Re: Displacement noise and polygon screw-up
Hi Ristoraven,
Thanks! That did the trick! I naively thought that if errors showed up setting it lower was the way to go, but higher worked well!

Re: Displacement noise and polygon screw-up
I tried that, but it's at 100um now, and if I set it to 95um the bottom part goes dark. Hold on, I'll do a render to show you.

Re: Displacement noise and polygon screw-up
For your info, here is the render when the sleeve is only at .1mm distance from the displaced plastic bottle. In theory, displacement should be zero where the sleeve, for the plastic bottle, because the disp map is white there, and mid level is at 1.0.
