Concept Racer

This image is part of a larger project -- I used the Blender plugin for this particular render.

The scene setup was inspired by a shot of the Mercedes-Benz W196 -- which is a similar car to this in some respects.

Re: Kitchen [maya studies]

How hard is Maya to learn? (With the understanding that you're an experienced Blender user.)

Re: Loft

Yes, she is.

I was trying to think of a CG joke to go with my initial post. Something like: while the CG nerds are modeling inflatable furniture, I'm out photographing beautiful women. But then I realized that I’m a CG nerd.

Loft

Hi!

Thought I'd throw this out there. It's a personal project that I finished over the weekend. The model is real, the environment is CG. Pathtracing for about 5 hours (it really didn't need to run that long -- I fell asleep.)

The architecture of the loft was from a reference in a magazine, the ...

Re: ST11 Enterprise Hallway

I noticed that, too.

Here's what I've been using as a still reference. The color is a little different than the shot that tehfailsafe put up. However -- I've got some work to do to get it to match. I was fiddling with the blue channel this morning trying to match the floor, but now I can see from ...

Re: ST11 Enterprise Hallway

Thanks for the feedback!

@Colin -- I see the haze now. And yes: I think lifting the blacks will take it the rest of the way.

I see a few things I want to tweak on the airlock door (mostly the dimensions on the upper and lower bands.) I might bump the lights in the soffit up a bit too.

Thanks for ...

Re: ST11 Enterprise Hallway

A fellow photographer noticed the same issue with the lights. So, I changed the film response[?] and that seemed to help add a little color back to them. I also added a subtle bloom to the brightest lights in PS.

I think it's an improvement.

Re: ST11 Enterprise Hallway

Here's the other reference I've been using to gather more detailed information (I tried to stay consistent with the lighting and color in the screen grab):

(There's a great pano of the bridge too.)
