New 3 screenshots but at [email protected] size only (not any artificial light):

- Box@specular with ior ~1.33 for test - if shadows are smooth or unsmooth

- Unsmooth as bug shadows by caustics at Progressive Photon Mapping ...

I edited to change number of spp my last post (check above - from "...approximately 1.5M -spp@4320p" to "approximately 750k -spp@4320p") because:
-spp's numbers at same noises level *
12M at 1920x1080
3M at 4k/UHD
750k at 8k/Quad UHD

* - NOTE: Must use EXR image, click Free lastest "GIMP ...

Happy holidays! :)

VRAM size used at PT@32-parallel and @128-tile:
--at 7680x4320
2026.1 - 10.3GB
2025.x - 2.6GB

--at 1920x1080
2026.1 - 2.8GB
2025.x - 2.6GB

Why does new 2026.1 need to use VRAM size for resolution screen? But 2026.1 seems to be "not" faster than 2025.x.

thanks for the new build.

I've tried new displacement and there are few issues:
- there is no old texture displacement
- viewport performance very bad eg. a mesh with displacement renders with 3 fps and without 40fps
- rendering performance is 4 times slower with displacement enabled
