Re: OctaneRender® 1.024 beta 2.48b TEST (lin/win)

Just an FYI--I think you know about this already, but I just installed 2.48b on a box w/2x 590-gtx (4 CUDA devices) and I can't add any of them to the active list...

Re: OctaneRender® 1.024 beta 2.48b TEST (lin/win)

It's really fantastic, it's perfect.
NO FIREFLIES, NEED NOT SUPER SAMPLING and ULTRA FAST(52Msps with 4xGTX590, double speed of 2.46b).
This is what I am waiting for.
Many many thanks.

Regards,
I am planning buying such a config with 4x gtx 590 too.

mix of 580 gtx and 480 gtx no longer working...

It says "2 GPUs (1 failed)" under the render window. Note that both devices show up fine in as active device under the CUDA tab in prefs.

(one is a GTX 580 & one is a GTX 480--both worked fine under CUDA 3.0)

Material picker is "flakier" in current build...

Previously, the material picker was rock-solid. Now, it often doesn't find a new material that is clearly on top of the previously selected material, or takes multiple clicks to find a new material.

Also, as noted, the material list is no longer sorted from closest material to furthest material ...

Changing material type resets render...

Previously, when you used the material picker to select a material, then changed the material type, the view would stay in render mode. Now, if you change the material type, it jumps to seeing the material on its own. This is very jarring--I'd call it a bug, unless there is a way to change the ...

Re: OctaneRender® 1.024 beta 2.48b TEST (lin/win)

When using the material picker, right click, and the list of materials seems random now. It was better before when the material infront of the picker was on top of the material list.

yes your right. The material names pop up Does seem a bit random.

Maybe the most intuitive interface would be the ...

Re: Could we have the Messiah's plug-in for Octane render?

This would be tricky, as you'd need to really get into the guts of Messiah to enable dumping the entire scene, frame by frame, as one gigantic .obj, similar to how messiah's FBX export works. Currently, there is no easy way to do this directly from messiah--you can export separate elements as .objs ...
