Re: Loading Layers from PSD or TIFF
Hi there!
I am trying to load layers by name from PSD and TIFF files using imageChosenLayerName. I can't get it to work.
Multilayer EXR files work, but I was under the impression this worked with other multilayer formats as well. Is this a bug or are PSD and TIFF just not supported for this feature ...

Standard Surface Material has missing Subsurface modes ( Diffusion, Random Walk ) :

Re: OctaneRender® 2022.1 [current 2022.1]
Thank you for the update.
Regarding the Reltime Button. Is it only useful when rendering on one gpu only?
When it is enabled with multiple GPUs the rendering slowdowns considerably.
It currently only works on single GPU (multi-GPU support is coming after we finish more RT features in 2023 ...

For architectural and stability reasons it was my call to push Rest position and the remainder of the brigade kernel work to to the next release - 2023.1 - already well underway, see the blog post update on the home page. We will begin testing in the same slack group we used for 2021 beta.

Re: Extract ORBX content back to Cinema 4D possible?
It's possible in theory, in the way that if you google translate a book to another language and then back again it might sort of work, but be missing some pieces. We are going to support C4D inside an ORBX at some point now that we have the library from Maxon to do this.

Re: OctaneRender® 2022.1 RC 2 [current 2022.1]

Re: World Position Offset
I think 2022 a least can sort of do world space vertex displacement (as long as the mesh is a unique model and not instanced per displacement). Let me know if that doesn't work.

Re: Do the devs care about UI/UX in Octane for Blender?
As we wrap up 2022, I will be working with the core team on simplifying how things are in standalone/core so we can also reflect this better in the plug-in UX. We should be moving to standard surface based workflows (which we adapted with ADSK/Arnold and now coming to RS, even UE), and that is also ...
