Thanks, Karba. If I build my scene in Max, including iToo ForestPack instances, then export to STANDALONE, will they remain efficient instances?
I am wondering if we are close to the time when I can build my scene in Max, then export to STANDALONE, then render in the CLOUD. Thanks again.

Should I export from Max to Standalone?
A previous, similar post prompted this question:
For an animation of a complex architectural interior, should I export from Max 2014/Octane 1.5 to Octane standalone?
This is the animation that I did in Max/Octane:

Re: OctaneRender® for 3ds max® v1.22a[Test]
I use the standalone version. If I install 1.22a, am I going to get an inactive license? Am I going to loose access to the materials database? Are my ies lights going to stop working?
Other than these concerns, I want to try it out!

Re: Photo match for a winter scene
I had a lot of help with this one a few years ago http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/scripts/snowflow-make-snow-with-the-click-of-a-button
Wow! That is a great find! I am a lot more confident now, thank you. If my client is willing to cover my time, I will post the results.

Photo match for a winter scene
We have an important residential project and the local municipality is requiring a photo match for the project approval. The problem is: we need to take the photo now, so it will be a winter scene, snow on the ground, and ski resort and mountains in the background. I have never done a winter scene ...

Displacement Work-Around
I have been away from the forum for a while, doing my main work in Architecture. I am doing a new interior set of renders and a video in Max/Octane. I was spoiled with VRays nice displacement features. As a workaround I am trying to get my fireplace to have some realism by displacing the geometry in ...

Re: NEW : OctaneRender for Revit released
This is very interesting! I have the license for standalone and 3ds Max. However, I model in REVIT. I would love to stay in REVIT and use the Octane Plug-in. However, I am a big fan of iToo Forest Pack for my landscaping. What would be the recommended solution for adding grass and landscaping?
