Not only that, but wouldn't you need to enable SLI to work with the 590gtx? I thought Octane didn't like SLI enabled?

Hey thanks a lot for the information. I guess my last question is in regards to loading a scene into octane. I noticed it takes a very, very long time to load a single "frame" into octane. I was wondering if there is a way to avoid this or cut the time (Voxelization, etc)?

Thanks for the info! I'm still a little concerned about Octane. I was reading that apparently you can't really render fluids, hair or dust/particles unless you make them polygons, which can be tricky for a raytracing renderer. Dust and smoke just seem out of the question for Octane, I am guessing ...

Hmmm, I haven't tested it yet, but will it work with plug-ins like real-flow or maya fluids? As for the camera, you just choose your camera and it keeps it's movement and position, correct?

Hello everyone, I am starting to work on an animated short film. I was wondering how good is Octane in an animation production environment? I heard you need to use a plug-in to drive each separate frame into Octane for rendering, is this true, and if so, how efficient is it?

I am using Maya and the 470gtx is crap for viewport performance. I bought a quadro 4000 as my main card and have had no issues since. The 470gtx is reserved for rendering.

You may not be aware of it although it has been highlighted elseware on the forums but there is currently an issue with the GTX460.Until Octane is recompiled using Cuda 3.2 it is only currently using 224 of it's 336 available cores.A bit of a bug courtesy of Nvidia i'm afraid.Hence why you are only ...

So Octane doesn't scale with multi-GPU unless all of the GPUs are of the same caliber? Meaning adding a 580gtx to this setup would be useless?
