Re: Texture baking

I hear this over and over as an explanation why texture baking can't be done. But I still don't see what the actual problem is. Specular/reflection is much less computationally expensive than calculating the while lighting solution every frame, so having even having just the diffuse is a huge ...

Re: OctaneRender for Blender plugin product dev wanted

Great to see something happening. I posted this on blenderartists, most of the blender devs visit that forum at least once in a while. Cheers! :D

Re: [Unsupported] Blender plugin v1.11

Hmm. I'll admit I've always pressed that button, but that's because I always had trouble with things not updating in Octane. Maybe it will be better with the new plugin, I'd have to test some more. It still means I'd have to go back and forth between octane and blender.

I still don't see why there ...

Re: [Unsupported] Blender plugin v1.11

I'd agree for materials but I do my lighting while I'm modelling (before I even start to UV) and I like to test my scene often. Not having that setting forces me to set it in octane for every light in the scene each time I test. It's just another float value. Since there are plenty of other, less ...

Re: [Unsupported] Blender plugin v1.11

Thanks for your great work, Yoyoz!

Is there something I'm missing or is the blackbody emitter efficiency setting not accessible anywhere in blender?

Re: The future of Blender + Octane

Cycles is standalone too. It's written entirely separately from Blender (in C++ in fact, where Blender is in C), and there's no reason you couldn't code a Maya or Max plugin for it if you were so inclined. It just happens to have a well maintained, well integrated python plugin for Blender. There's ...

Re: The future of Blender + Octane

When I was buying Octane, I was certainly not expecting Blender to be hung out to dry like this. I've only paid the 100 euro for the beta, sure, so it's not like I have that much to complain about, but still, right now Octane is kinda useless to me. My workflow is model->test->tweak->test->tweak ...

Re: Are you ready to release beta 2.1 ?

That would probably be because he has this - "4x GTX295" - in his signature and it's annoying to see it all get old without much use :P

Re: Octane Render Commercial v1.02 beta2 Released

I still can't find it. Ah well. I guess I'll learn in due time. What am I doing skimming software forums on my holiday anyway?

I told you it was just in front of you... from a long time
