Dispersion is when the light is broken up by the material so that you can see all of the lights colors, think of the rainbow and how you can see the colors in it......bad explanation, but thats why we have wikipedia:-) http://www.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dispersion_(optics)

Re: exporting and importing C4D files
Hi
I`m using Cinema 4D and I have no problem exporting scenes out.
But you can`t use the internal exporter in Cinema because that one sucks, can`t understand why Maxon after all these years haven`t done anything to make it work.
I use Riptide obj. exporter witch can be downloaded from here http ...

Re: Just my tests...
Thanks for answering radiance.
It it nice to hear that MLT and portals will make a different in rendering times, just as I hoped :D
There is no glass in the windows, but in the bathroom scene there is the glass doors witch might not be the best idea
after all.

Re: Just my tests...
I will have to do another render of the bathroom scene, it really don`t look as good as I would like
But as a test to see if a smaller and simpler scene would make any different when it comes to speed and noise, I reused some of the bedroom
furniture in a new scene. This time it`s only lit ...

Re: Just my tests...
Thanks for the comments Sam.
I do agree that the floor has way to much reflection and there for looks wet.
The furniture already has some reflection but it might be to blurry, will try to raise the roughness some more and also try with some reflection on the walls.

Re: Just my tests...
Re rendered one of my old scenes in Octane, some noise and fireflies has been removed in photoshop,
other than that it is a pure octane image.
I know the mirror looks strange but i forgot to adjust the material so lets just say it`s a foggy mirror :)
What kind of speed /noise improvement can we ...

Future animation workflow
Hi,
I`m just wondering how the animation workflow will be when it gets supported.
I read somewhere (not on this forum) that animation will be supported through batch rendering of files,
does that means that we have to export our files out on a frame by frame basis?
This seams like a time consuming ...

These images as truly impressive, the texture quality is really, really high.
But it is a scene that begs for bump map support

Re: Ajax Greek Head
I really like the last one to, really like the stone feel it has
But it`s a little over-blown out by the nose, maybe play some more with the settings or apply a little bit darker material.

Hey I just noticed that the architecture illustration I did for the competition has made it to the front page  ,
I`m so honoured to be there considering all those great artwork that was submitted.
@pixym
