Hi,
I just installed C4D 2025.1.0 and Octane 2024.1-R3 (also tried R2).
I open a new blank project, add a cube, open the Live Viewer window, send the scene to render in LV and I receive a message:
"there is no GPU device which is selected"
Apple M1 Max is enabled under 'Devices'.
C4D then ...

Help Understanding Error Log - CUDA Error 700
Hi,
I am urgently trying to get a draft render out for a client review but can't successfully get a consistent render going without crashes after 9-20 frames.
I have 1,3m polys in my scene, using C4d 2024.3.2, and the latest Octane. I have tried on my Macbook M1, and my Windows machine, but I can ...

Re: C4D Hair Module In Cloner - Octane Live Viewer Errors
Jayroth, thank you so much, this seems to be working now after pulling the Hair out of that order. You hero. I'll keep testing it throughout the day but you might have just saved me!
Thanks
Thanks

Re: C4D Hair Module In Cloner - Octane Live Viewer Errors
Thanks for looking over it.
The deformers are just bending the Null containing all the character assets. I've stripped everything else out of the project, but the XP is driving the character's asset selection.
I'll look at the mesh tomorrow, the hair shouldn't have any dynamics or forces enabled ...

Re: C4D Hair Module In Cloner - Octane Live Viewer Errors
Thanks for the explanation, Jayroth. What's odd is the base that the hair is rooted to is staying where it should be, but the hair no longer seems to follow it.
I'll have a deeper look at the hierarchy now. But if you could find time to take a look, that would be amazing. I've uploaded the file ...

Re: C4D Hair Module In Cloner - Octane Live Viewer Errors
Ok great, thanks! This seems to be working well now.
The main issue now is that when the object moves, the hair is moving to a different/exaggerated rate. So the hair is no longer stuck to the base that the roots are rooted to.
Again if I render through Picture Viewer it is all fine, but in the ...

Re: C4D Hair Module In Cloner - Octane Live Viewer Errors
Hi Aoktar, I've been rendering most of these pieces now using the Generate > Circle method and you were right, it's becoming quite time-consuming!
If I set it to Generate > Spline and add the Octane Hair tag it is much easier, but the hairs do not show up in any renders I add to the Render Queue ...

Re: C4D Hair Module In Cloner - Octane Live Viewer Errors
A test build would be great. Thanks. I'll check the triangles on the project as it is now. This method seems to be working well for now but a cleaner way would be helpful.

Re: C4D Hair Module In Cloner - Octane Live Viewer Errors
Ok, no problem. I just realised I can set the Generate Type to 'Circle' and then apply an Octane Hair Material to it to add the colour back in, whilst using the original hair material to style the hair with thickness, kink & scale.
Thanks
