Hi Darkiline,
unfortunately Octane is "famous" for its laks of documentation or tutorials :(
Here is what I do to obtain light projection:
- the plane that casts the image should be really little
- in the emission channel of the material use a "Blackbody emission" or a "Texture emission", they works ...

congrats!, output is really close to the photo!.....I love the corridor lamp material.
There are some UV mapping errors onto some parts of the doors and the frame doors, except that all seem perfect :)

Implemented the targeted/untargeted modes for Octane camera (e.g. usable for perspective match tool).

...thanks for the effort Jim, but unfortunately the Octane render viewport doesn't match the Octane camera modification via "perspective match tool"
