Hello,
I've scrubbed through the Forum and couldn't find a technique for making Textures visible in the Maya Viewport. Can I assemble nodes onto a shader to make the texture display in the Maya Viewport 2.0?

Rendering the Image Plane in the Maya Viewport
Hello,
I've read in some of the documentation that you should be able to render the Image Plane of the Viewport in Maya. This would really help me render my models on actual photos so that I can more quickly match lighting and perspective. The documentation states that I would need to enable "Alpha ...

V3 Plugin and V3 Standalone
Hello,
I had two questions. I jumped right away on securing the nice pricing of upgrading my standalone and plugin. I've downloaded the standalone and noticed there isn't a download for Maya V3 yet.
1. When is the V3 Maya going to be released (do you know yet)?
2. Should I wait to install the ...

Re: OctaneRender® for Maya® 1.55 - 3.4 Win [CURRENT]
Texture Display Issue:
-Textures in the Octane shaders do not display in the Maya Modeling window.
-This also causes a problem when I try to use the UV Texture Editor.
-The image does not display in that window either so I can't quickly adjust the UVs.

Speed of Rendering Inside Maya Compared to Standalone Octane
:?: It seems that rendering inside Maya is significantly slower using Octane Plugin compared to exporting to the Octane Standalone application. The factor is multiple times faster in the Standalone.

Re: Unique object names
I don't know if this will help your workflow. I have been having problems with this "unique" name thing too. It's a pain. The button in the Octane Shelf Tab doesn't seem to fix it either. It changes the name, but still calls it out as being a duplicate at export.

Re: How do you Rotate the Texture Environment
Yep, applied what you said and that worked of course. It's weird because in my mind it seems logical to go by degrees or whole numbers. The scales used by some of the dialogue boxes are so foreign to me coming from Mental Ray. Oh well, no skin of my nose. It works and that's all that matters. Thanks ...

Re: How do you Rotate the Texture Environment
I did try to input a number in both of those fields and the number will not be accepted higher than 1. In fact, whatever number I input, the number reverts to 1. For example, if I input 20 into either field, after pressing return, it switches to the value of 1. Do I have to unlock this somehow?

How do you Rotate the Texture Environment
I am using the Octane for Maya plugin and I'm working well with it so far, but I have a question.
How do you rotate the Texture environment? So I am using an image to illuminate my scene. I order to do this of course I clicked the "Create Octane Sun/Sky Environment Node" button in the OctaneRender ...
