Re: Projecting a logo in Octane (stand alone)
I thought I found a solution of how to join the meshes. I exported as stl and then saved as obj. that made one uniform mesh, however now the UV-mesh projection does not project anything. Weird?

Re: Projecting a logo in Octane (stand alone)
Thanks a lot, that helped the "alpha part" of my problem. But placing the logo exactly right on the object rotated, straight and scaled is an entirely different story. If I need to UV map the logo to the object then I might as well just hard-model it in CAD. I mean Bump is not needed, but still nice ...

Projecting a logo in Octane (stand alone)
Does anyone have a good and simple way of projecting logos onto an object? I feel like I have no control over the rotation and scaling. It seems no matter what I do the pivot point is somewhere outside my geometry. How do I place (project) a logo onto an object? And no, mesh UV projection does not ...

Re: Learning Octane
sounds like a good start. Motivation is there no doubt !
So my work flow will be like this: Alias Studio > Maya > Octane.
I have to use Maya as a gateway to get the settings in the obj-file from Alias to Oct.
Guess I will make a set of templates i Maya and save the whole scene for Oct.

Re: Learning Octane
Thanks a lot, I kind a knew that already. Have read the PDF and seen the videos. What I was thinking of was a more step by step tutorial like you see it in many other apps. Besides fooling around and tweaking that and that, it's nice to know the "right way" to begin with. Then you can grow from ...

Learning Octane
I just purchased Octane and wounder; what is the fastest way to learn it?
My experience with rendering is rather limited, but now because of octane i bought a brand new system with two GTX 480's. Everything is running sweet. Now I just need to start educating myself, but how do I get started?
