When to use PMC over pathtracing
Hi all, I'm sure this is a daft question, but in what circumstances is it best to use PMC or pathtracing? What are the characteristics of a particular scene, lighting or materials that dictate it would be better to use one over the other?

Re: How do you make a camera active?
Aha! I'd missed that the preview imager was a macro so I couldn't find the thing to hook it up to. Thanks.

How do you make a camera active?
I've been trying to figure out how to switch between cameras once I've added new ones into the scene, but I must be missing something. Is this possible?

Re: Managing scenes with many materials?
I thought that might be the case

Managing scenes with many materials?
I've been messing around with a couple of scenes that have many materials which has raised a question - what's the best way to manage a scene that has a lot of materials, e.g. after Sketchup export you import the obj and have a huuuuuuugely wide mesh node with a gazillion material points on it? What ...

Re: Positioning the $!@# camera?
The Sketchup script is still broken for me, the centre of rotation ends up miles from where it should be and the scene never looks right. Straight OBJ export is fine.

Positioning the $!@# camera?
I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, but I'm having the worst trouble putting the camera where I want it in Octane. Panning is Ok, but the center of rotation is never where I want it to be, so when I rotate the camera I always end up zooming through walls rather than rotating nicely around whatever I ...

At The Plaza
Hi. 'At The Plaza' (my third and final entry) uses the new alpha shadows capability to add visual interest to a very simple scene.
The scene has only 630 triangles and is sunlit through an alpha texture. The trees were rendered in Vue 7 and were reused in my gallery entry (on the lampshade and the ...

Gallery Corridor - Tree Installation
Hi, "Gallery Corridor - Tree Installation" is my second entry (The Chair on p17 was my first).
I tried a few different gallery-themed ideas before settling on this. I wanted some really subtle lighting effects (like the reflections on the curved ceiling) to give depth to the image.
