Just to clarify....this behavior happens when I click on an object in the object panel. Not when I move the mouse ...

I do not see Big Sur C4D Plug-in available in my studio subscription. Only Catalina.

Do you have a Studio subscription?
Only Enterprise subscriptions are available for the Big Sur C4D plugin, ATM.

plugin isn't available for studio subscriptions. if you need access now it seems you DO need to purchase an enterprise sub. do not make the same mistake i did.
It's available for subscriptions. Latest SDK releases are a big confusion, PR5's are seperately built for Catalina+Big Sur ...

I'm using it as I type. It was in my account downloads, under 'OctaneRender Enterprise for Cinema 4D' – Octane X PR5 (Big Sur)

I was considering subscribing to enterprise if that was what it took to get a working C4D ...
