Re: OctaneRender™ Standalone 2.00 [current 2.xx]
Is there a new pack of example scenes for these new features?

Re: OctaneRender® for Maya® v1.13 beta [CURRENT]
I have a problem. I have a scene that I saved on a machine with Octane for Maya, then when I try to load that same scene on a machine without Octane for Maya (or I uninstall OFM), I get this error when I open the Hypershade, or when I try to assign a texture to a material input:
// Error: Cannot ...
// Error: Cannot ...

Re: OctaneRender® for Maya® v1.11b beta [CURRENT]
FINALLY!!!!! This is the first version of Octane for Maya that I can actually use with my scenes. Thank you for fixing the unique naming bug.

Re: OctaneRender® for Maya® v1.11a beta [CURRENT]
This Unique name bug is still preventing me from rendering a single useful image out of Octane for Maya. Wasn't this bug supposed to be fixed in v1.11a? The unique names script doesn't do anything to solve this problem. I even have my own script that changes all the names of the objects, but I'm ...

Re: Transparent IES Lights
The most useful system I've seen and used is in Maya with checkboxes for each object:
- Casts Shadows
- Receive Shadows
- Motion Blur
- Primary Visibility (this is all direct lighting, diffuse, spec, etc)
- Smooth Shading (already exists in Octane's materials)
- Visible in Reflections

Re: Transparent IES Lights
The proper handling of light sources with full transparency is obviously to make sure you don't see any illumination of them. But that is not what you want. We could add a possibility of a transparent emitter material in the future, but we don't have such plans for the near future.

Re: fluidis CUDA
Very cool, I can't wait until this is the norm in 3D packages. Houdini has a GPU fluid solver too, but I haven't heard of anyone using it just yet. I know ILM's fluid and RBD solvers have been CUDA based for years now.

Re: Navigation issues!
This problem literally comes up once every 2-4 weeks. This should just be set automatically or something, it's obviously a bug.

Re: Motion Blur
Yea, a lot of standard convenience features are currently missing from Octane, like multipliers (of all sorts). But a post-blur adjustment would require a 2D blur system, which I'm not a big fan of. Hell, that would even require that stores velocity information in a file, which is another feature ...
