Octane does not detect my ENGTX 465 when placed in second PCIe slot and I am using my old Ati for display. I saw that it was one of the new feauters that it would work, but no.
EDIT: it might be my motherboard that is crappy, second pcie port seems wacko.

Re: Import from Microstation not working in 2.44
Try importing this file, and see if not the materials become specular. I want the result as in 2.43, glossy with textures. You should see a difference between 2.43 and 2.44 at least. Lets hope that the MTL file was the problem

Re: Import from Microstation not working in 2.44
With 2.43 the textures are working correctly. In 2.44 the materials are specular and no textures are specified. I tried it today with another scene, and the problem remains.

Hi,
I have just tried 2.44 and to my disappointment the import of my model is not working really good.
I have a scene that that I can import in 2.43 without problems. It can be imported to Luxology Modo 501 as well. It is done in Microstation V8i SS3 Beta.

Try uninstalling the drivers and restart. Let Win7 install the default Cuda driver. Do not download the latest. See if it works.

Re: Dream machine
I wouldnt mind if Octane eventually could use my ram, cpu... everything. Anything to get my rendertime down. And also i need to be able to work at the same time as rendering so a 90% function would be nice. (I might be getting a cheap 8400... maybe. Not sure if it will work with the mb

Re: Product design: table
I havent been playing around with Octane too much yet, but I have found some workflow options.
Microstation (AutoCAD competitor): works great. 3d model with textures exported. Flaw: Only one texture per layer admitted.
Luxology Modo: No textures exported :(
SketchUp: Works great. All textures ...
