Hi all,
I'm running Cinema 4D 2025.0.2 and OctaneX 2024.1-R3 on macOS Sequoia 15.1. This is running on a Mac Studio M2 Ultra with 76 GPU Cores and 128 GB RAM.
No matter the render settings in regards to priority I can't get Octane to utilize more than 50% of my GPUs. Is there any known issues like ...

I agree, this is approaching disrespectful. The issue has been known for quite some time now and not a word. One thing is for sure, I can't render but I'm still paying. I'm starting to wonder for what?Pixege wrote:It's not okay to ignore the problem

Re: NEW: Octane X - is finally here! [MEGA FAQ THREAD]
@ jhansen and Gianluca: I think that this is related to the same issue with Demo mode that starts after some time of rendering, and should be solved in the next version 192.168.1.1 .
@bepeg4d Does this demo mode activate even during an active render? I'm having issues with big lengthy renders ...

Re: NEW: Octane X - is finally here! [MEGA FAQ THREAD]
Is anyone else seeing the Octane Live Viewer getting unresponsive in Cinema 4D after a sitting idle for a while? The progress bar chugs along but the Live Viewer doesn't update. The only solution so far seems to be restarting Cinema 4D. Before upgrading to Big Sur and PR8 it was working fine. Well ...

Re: NEW: Octane X - is finally here! [MEGA FAQ THREAD]
Made some render tests before upgrading to BigSur on my production rig. Octane X performance is more or less exactly the same in C4D R23 using Octane X PR5 for macOS Catalina and BigSur, respectively.
The only kink so far is that I have to leave the render settings open in BigSur to use high ...

Re: NEW: Octane X - is finally here! [MEGA FAQ THREAD]
Would it be possible for the Octane render team to update the OB scores in the original post with numbers from any of the new AMD Big Navi cards? Assuming there is a card at hand for testing.
Would be interesting to see if it's worth lining up for a replacement of my two Radeon VII cards.

Re: How to Disable Texture Tiling?
Thanks again Aoktar.
Where would you load an unique shaped alpha logo (mulit-coloured PNG perhaps) so that it sits nicely on the cylinder without tiling around.

When working with alpha in the Opacity input you can only use black/white and gradients in-between. When a png is used, like in ...

Re: Getting glass transparency in PNG
Hi,
For that I would look into using Render layer found in Render settings > Octane Renderer > Multipasses. It's a bit wonky to set up but once you get the settings down it's rewarding. Heads up, this setting also affects the Live Viewer and can seem to break things. At least for me Render layer is ...

Re: Seperate materials for Cinema4D viewport and Octane?
Hi,
An easy fix for the viewport would be to disable materials all together. This might not be exactly what you're looking for but sorts out any issues with black viewport materials. Deselect Materials in your viewport options dropdown.
