Hi all! I bought a Big Medium Small Mech Squad assets pack. Great pack, I want to render with Octane. I import the FBX and the Materials as "Standard/Physical". Then I try to convert them and.... I'm not really sure what it does but it's broken.

Re: Scatter on Surface/ Octane scatter. How does it work?
Ok I see. Thanks! I was looking for nodes to plug into and out from the Scatter on Surface. So it doesn't need anything plugged in it just needs to exist. Awesome! Same with the materials too huh? I thought you needed a material out connected after your materials. Good to know! Cheers!

Scatter on Surface/ Octane scatter. How does it work?
Hi all. So Octane scatter for C4D looks very cool. I know I know, Houdini has powerful scatter tools. Is there any documentation on how to use it in Houdini?
There's a Scatter on Surface and Scatter on Volume that are a total mystery to me.
Cheers
Shaun

Re: OCIO Octane crashing
I believe I was in this case. I know for sure I was when I had originally posted of the crashing previously. I needed to use Full scene reload because I was using changing point attributes to drive a shader.

Re: OCIO Octane crashing
Hi! Took me a while but here's my crash log. Again, it happens when I'm rendering a sequence. Single frames are fine. Here's a dxdiag doc also. Some interesting info at the bottom about Houdini crashing. Might be of interest. Cheers!

Volume (Fire) noise and fire flies
Hiya! I'm ready to render out a project I just got 1 issue. I'm casting a light down a tunnel, with a thin film "water" surface in front of it. I also have the environment medium enabled. Got some noise or fireflies at the tips of the volumes where the density is lower. I'm fiddled with just about ...

Re: OCIO Octane crashing
I went to the OCIO site and downloaded an OCIO config just to give a path for Houdini to point to a file. The rendering is working so far but this popped up in the console

Animated float point attributes driving Octane shader attrib
Hi all. I have a stretch attribute coming from a Vellum sim. 0 - 1. It's a balloon inflating an deflating. When its stretched out it's 1, when i'ts loose it's 0. I follow these steps exactly https://docs.otoy.com/HoudiniH/HoudiniPluginManual.htm#Houdini/FloatVertexAttribute.htm?Highlight=attributes ...
