Hello,
octane is very interestig because its render speed and quality.

One task for us is to composite seamless cgi with rael pictures.
What possibly ways would be with octane?
I haven't find this in the faq.

thanks radiance,

I used a bend ground plate and mapped (uv) the image on it.
The scene is lit with an low resulution hdri image.

Hi to all,

I play with octane more than I want.
I tried to integrat an excavator model in a real picture, here the result. The model is not from me.

There are very nice entries in the competition, they show the potential of octane.

You can learn hypershot in a very short time, but it's a limeted tool and not as flexible as for example LW. That is the price for ease of use without to know to much about rendering.
As radiance said, octane will become a complete render engine and I think you have to learn more to master the ...

thanks enricocerica, maybe I participate to the contest if time enough.

In the meantime I had access to Hypershot and rendered the scene ca. 14 min.
The picture is smaler and you can see some grain. With my low end graphic card the octane result is cleaner in nearly the same time.

I am interested in the octane render technology.
To test octane I have set up a little scene in LW; assigned simple material and export the model as .obj to octane. I used environment mapping with hdri and monte carlo in LW (same picture as in octane).
