Blender Add-On OSX

Hello everyone,

Is OTOY planning to make Octane an Add-On as opposed to its own Blender build for OSX users?

Thanks.

Texture Displacement Mix

Hello everyone,

I'm not sure I understand how to mix two Displacement maps using the Texture Displacement nodes.

It seems the "Texture Displacement" node only accepts the "Texture" nodes as input. Makes sense, although, the "Add Tex", "Mult Tex" or "Mix Tex", though they connect fine, lead to no ...

PR14 | Viewport Selection Broke

Hello everyone,

It appear the viewport selection tool broke with the release of PR14. i.e. Mouse clicking an object doesn't select the object anymore.
Same for the arrow gizmos on the Move, Rotate and Scale tool. When clicked on, the cursor doesn't register them and everything act like the pick ...

PR14 | Release notes available?

Hello everyone,

With the recent release of the Octane PR14 Blender/OSX plugin, I was wondering if there was information somewhere listing the fixed bugs and new features?

Thanks a bunch!

Re: How to ramp Volume Density?

Hello Lino,

Thanks for the hint. I got it working after watching your cloud/noise tutorial. I can't believe how fast your machine is.

Re: How to ramp Volume Density?

Hello jobigoud,

Thanks for your reply. I'm trying to create a Volume Fog with a vertical Density attenuation falloff driven by a vertical ramp/gradient.

I would also like to drive the absorption with a color gradient, where the thicker the fog, the more of a color is absorbed, and the thinner it ...

Re: How to ramp Volume Density?

Hello Jobigoud.

Earlier Octane version? I'm using the latest build. Isn't PR13 the latest build available and didn't it come out in 2022?

As for the Volume node, I only see the Volume Medium node. Where can I find the Standard Volume Medium node?

When I connect a Gradient Tex node in the ...

How to ramp Volume Density?

Hello everyone,

I've been trying to create a gradient in a Volume and can't seem to figure it out.
I tried the "Volume Ramp" also (which doesn't seem to do anything either) via "Density", "Scattering Tex" or "Scat. Ramp" and no changes take place.
I would like to use the same approach to add noise ...

Blender PR13 | Octane Postprocess not working

Hello everyone,

It appears the current build "Octane X PR13 (Monterey) Blender plugin" does not include a functioning "Octane Postprocess" feature.

This was working in PR12.

Best,

Re: Texture Displacement Ignores Image Texture Modes

Hello Alexey,

You may want to see if clearing the cache helps out.
You can find the "Clear Cache" button under the Octane Settings tab, at the very bottom.
For some reasons, a lot of items around the Displacement node doesn't always updates.

Best,
