here's a question.
Is there a case to be made that a specular map made for an item, like for example this manhole cover , could also be used connected to the roughness channel ?
After all, the rough parts of a metal surface may also be worn smooth and therefore expose the underlying bare metal ...

Re: Are Holographic file types preventing 3d model extraction?
You can create a 3d point cloud now from photos take around various positions of an object, so doing the same from around a hologram would i assume be just as easy to re-create the 3d object, then from there into meshlab to transform the point cloud to a mesh...Probably not what you wanted to hear ...

Re: Input, tips and tricks or general rendering help
To Illustrate my point, please see the attached
1) The cube has a 5mm radius on it, just enough to diffuse the hard edges.
2) Sun size was set to 30 , but in this case i left the turbidity alone.I just changed the suns north offset to get an effective light to the scene.

Shilling
A Couple of suggestions
1) Make sure all hard edges are slightly rounded and then remap the mesh accordingly.Nothing has infinitely hard edges.
2) if your using daylight in the scene , try setting the sun size to the max 30 and increase it's turbidity , balance this with the suns power ...

Is this because it uses a scripted Nodes?
If this is the case, any chance of a version for 1.55 ?

Ok, thanks Thomas...I suspected as much.

Translating Fooze's comment's into English from sale's PR speak ..
That's how we've decided to sell the bolt on's, even though there's no actual programming logic to it.

Shouldn't get to excited....Sketchup has been large address aware since version 8 to allow access to more than 4 meg of ram.
The main problem has always been that it only use's 1 cpu core, even if you have a quad core processor.Having said that, they have stated that they have made some ...

Camille
Just click on the "stringy thing" (Connector) connecting the node's and with the left mouse button still depressed , just pull the "stringy thing" sideways, that should disconnect the node by removing the connector (stringy thing!)

Very Strange
Maxwell 750Ti and 750 have been supported for months, since their release in February.
Effectively the 980 and 970 are these cards but with a double width bus and more cores and memory. This means that either
