Just for anyone on windows having a problem with installing using the new packages meathod when your Documents folder is not in the default location... in my case i have OneDrive installed to automatically back everything up.

Stick the downloaded Octane folder where you would normally put it.
Open ...

Relative referance shop_materialpath's no longer seem to be working??
I was getting lots of pink on some imported models, but when i changed the materal path from relative to absolute its renders okay.
Is this a bug or a change in best practise?

Hello - Is it possible to render out a Geometry background but set the Geo containing it, so it does not contribute to the overall Alpha channel?

The trouble with using object layer id's and then creating and alpha from that is you get colour fringing on fine details.
Similarly if I just turn off ...

NodeSelector - Adding more inputs

Hello - Is there a way to add more that 8 node inputs to the Node Selector (Mat context node)
I'm trying to create a single material network but need to switch between many actual image inputs.

Hello - I dont seem to be able to get complex ngons rendering. Previously i'd click the 'Tessellate NGons' button under 'Tessellation' on the Geo Octane parmeters but it's not having any effect?

Hello - Does anyone know if there are any site that list preset settings for various materials?
Also do you know what subsuface mode is used, is it diffusion or random walk, or actually is there a way to choose?
