Since this is apparently an issue why not allow user to select the color space?
Basically select obj and and have a toggle that converts the values on the fly. This way exporters would not have to be modified for different pieces of software.

Re: Exporting scene to Octane
It's not about material edit-ability. It's about ability to join multiple models from multiple other pieces of software.

Re: Exporting scene to Octane
Could we at least have the switch/button that would allow us just export the scene? Much like the Sketchup exporter.
Also I have the hunch. Are you saying that the exporting is happening at the plugin start?

rappet - that's exactly what I had in mind. I'm not sure how the plugin is handling the export process, but there is some conversion happening already.

Exporting scene to Octane
I cannot find the option/possibility to save the octane scene for a future edit outside of Archicad.
I like to combine models from different sources in the OR editor.

Not sure why the license is a problem here? Sketchup exported is open. Why the blender plugin could not be?
Octane would benefit from the large blender user base.

Re: Material Editing in Sketchup.
It works in for Indigo. you should check it out.
There is additional information that can be stored with skp file that is not immediately visible in Sketchup, but helps you set up the scene before you export.
