Elsksa, thanks a lot for your comments. I have read all the links and will try to install and set up OCIO as you recommend. I'm still an amateur :-)
I understand that tonemapping is not ideal. I tried 32-bit linear, but Photoshop still can't work fully in 32-bit. I solve this by using a saved ...

Re: Tips for more light through the window into the interior
I forgot the most important thing.
The most important parameter when using the DayLight model is parameter TURBIDITY.
Larger value, more light scatter. I don't know how to describe it, but something like volume, but without fog.
It works correctly and logically only in the Hosek-Wilkie model and ...

Tips for more light through the window into the interior
If anyone has other tips for interiors and want to share, I'd be interested.
Sorry, I just scribbled it into one picture :-)
A somewhat experienced user will know. It probably won't help beginners much, you need to know the functions a little, what they do. And the basis of everything for me is ...

Re: OctaneRender® 2022.1 XB 0
Otoy are masters of making a big elephant out of small success, and presenting big problems......... Not to mention how elegantly they threw the Lightwave users ......
The only thing that deserves attention from what Otoy has done themselves in recent years is a new render kernel.

Re: Rendering artifacts
I would especially recommend quality geometry / meshflow. Much depends on the triangulation and order of the vertices. If the input geometry has 4 verticles / poly and good meshflow for proper automatic triangulation in the OCTANE core (vertex order), then very small bump and normal values are not a ...

Re: Tips for sub-surface scattering (SSS) for realistic ceramics
Try my porcelain and possibly modify it.
Hi Tomas, I am curious to know why a γ2.2 gamma-exponent has been applied to all your shading network. Octane should allow you in its preference, to change the color picker from Linear-sRGB to non-linear sRGB (with an EOTF applied, likely the approximation ...

Re: about Octane with LW Scale UI
Scaling works strangely, I never managed to set it when zoomed to 150 in Win10 to display an IPR of 1x1 pixel on a 4K monitor. And if so, a piece of the image is missing / as if a shifted camera. Some applications with their own UI can't handle this, for example, they display a window of parts off ...

Re: Trouble with Smoothing Groups
Try exporting the scene from IPR to ORBX and rendering it in Standalone.
I still use LW 2015, so I can't try it, but I know that sometimes, for example, triangulation of polygons is different when exporting from IPR than via F9 / F10. I've seen it, for example, in the leaves of flowers that are ...
