Re: Have I missed anything?

Well Octane used to be my software of choice but now that I've started using cycles more I find it a very easy system to use. The node system used in cycles is massively superior to Octane. As for noise / speed I am not sure about speed but I don't have any issues with noise.

Here's my latest ...

Have I missed anything?

I've not been on the Octane forum for a few months now. Have I missed anything?

I am now 100% cycles and really enjoying it. I've not used Octane since version 2 came out. I tell a lie, I did fire it up the other day and I'd completely forgotten how to use it

Re: Octane no longer Blender friendly?

I'm assuming that my period of grace is over now and that I have missed the €99 upgrade. That being the case then I think that my Octane days are over. Without boring everyone to tears with all the details I'll just say that I simply cannot afford any more than €99 and that I can't see any point in ...

Re: Octane no longer Blender friendly?

Personnaly I have bought Octane 2 standalone because i'm a c4d user too, but I'm done using Octane with Blender, for now.

It's way too risky to use it professionnaly because there's no official exporter, and no simple/secure workflow.

That's a shame because the Adobe model is brilliant. I am a proud subscriber to PS CC. It has been the first time that I have actually been able to afford such brilliant software.

Re: Octane no longer Blender friendly?

Hmm, I've just had an email telling me that the special upgrade price for Octane is coming to an end. I can't see any point upgrading until the blender integrated is available and that might be months. It sounds like my decision as to whether I should stick with Octane or concentrate more on Cycles ...

Octane no longer Blender friendly?

I've not used Octane in over 2 months now. There are several reasons for this.

 Version 2 is out and I really can't see the justification is paying to jump.
 Version 2 isn't Blender friendly anyway. Will we ever see a integrated version?
