Re: OctaneRender® 1.0 beta 2.46b released - new DEMO available
I'm finally a point to try using Octane regularly. I have a license and was curious to know, do I simply download the most recent demo and activate it with my license? Or is there a specific download for registered users?

Re: Materials - All Diffuse
Sam,
I did have spaces in my material names and hyphens. I've adjusted my material names and I'm not good to go!
Thank you for the help.

Materials - All Diffuse
I'm using the most recent build of Rhino5 on Win7, 64bit. I've assigned multiple materials to my model using the default Rhino render. When I import my model into Octane, it only pulls in one (1) material. A diffuse material (assigned to all objects) and it comes in pure black. Not even white.

Re: Group Materials on Import.
Thanks Sam! That is good news. I'll switch to the Rhino 5 beta when I know I'll be rendering with Octane.

Group Materials on Import.
Is there a way to consolidate objects with the same material? For example, I have 250 plus objects with the same material. When I import the model into Octane, it seems as a material node is created for each object. So I end up with 250 duplicates of the same material.

Re: Macbook pro i5- i7 "no Cuda Capable Devices Found, Exiting."
I spent a few hours today at the Apple store and went as far as to download Rhino and Octane on a MacBook Pro i7. Rhino installed and ran rather well. Very similar to Rhino 4 for Windows. Octane had install problems and would not run.

What do you think about running Windows on a Mac book pro? Would octane run better? I guess I just don't want to believe I can't run octane on a Mac book pro.

Re: OBJ Export
Thanks Kubo.
With all due respect to Octane, is the work flow of Octane duplicating efforts? I'm just trying to wrap my head around the program. I think it is pretty cool and very easy to make changes on the fly. I'm just trying to understand the logic and/or though process of having to setup ...

Re: Macbook pro i5- i7 "no Cuda Capable Devices Found, Exiting."
I'm considering switching my entire system over to a Mac Book Pro. Even using Rhino OSX. I'm considering Octane as my render program of choice.
Can anyone offer up any suggestions, warnings, advice?
Thanks in advance!
