Re: OctaneRender® for 3ds max® v2.23.2 - 2.8 [TEST]

I can't get the plugin to work.

It simply won't detect my GPU inside Octane's 3ds max plugin. The weirdest thing is that it works just fine on the standalone version.

I had the same problem one time, I had set the sample to zero by mistake.
Thanks for the heads up but sample is on zero because the plugin can't detect the GPU, therefore it didnt sample anything. :)

Re: Plugin not working

Hi.

No, it wasn't. The whole scene was built inside of max. The only reason I exported to the standalone version was to check if there was something wrong with my GPU.

I already tried other plugin versions, without success and the same scene renders fine in other machines...

Plugin not working

This is weird

I am having problems getting my octane 3ds max plugin to work. It works fine inside Octane standalone application, but inside 3dsmax it doesn't, and I always get stuck with a colorful square, even though it detects my GPU. Not sure why this is happening.
Here are some screenshots ...

Scana Spindrift Reduction Gear

Hi!

This is our first commercial animation production done here at FireGrader with Octane. Path Tracing. There's still a little bit of grain if you look carefully, but I like the result a lot.
We had a very weird bug on the material of the propellers, which would render pink (!!!) randomly. The ...

Re: HDRI environment in Octane for 3dsmax

Maybe because unibased goes the inverse way as raytraced?

Yeah! I think I still have to get my mind used to the idea of working with "real life" like working environment. :)

So, that means that when lighting a scene with and HDR, its not possible to fake a sun in order to get a good, sharp ...

Black or white screen while using backburner

I am trying to render an animation using the native backburner but all I get is a white screen. :?

The funny thing is that if I try to render from within max, that problem doesn't happen.

Any thoughts?

Hi Gabriele! Thanks for the quick reply.

I've sent you a PM... did you get it? Just wondering cause the message are under my OUTBOX folder, instead of SENT folder... I am new here on the forum, so I thought that it would be nice to check it. :)
