Oh, sorry, you are right, I didn't think about that! :shock: To know the size of the UV vectors it would have to take into account the size of the mesh. So you are right, it isn't sufficient to "normalize" the UV vector.
I now first thought that you could just compute the correct factor for scaling ...

Re: Material Export Problems
Hi Roeland,
sorry, I think you misunderstood me. I don't want the material editor/sphere to be changed, it is fine as it is. But the material editor is used to define a material. You can see in my screenshot of the material editor how the material should look like. And when applied to my model, it ...

Re: Material Export Problems
Hello TIG,
please take a closer look at the LiveDB material editor that you can see in this screenshot:
material_artrock.png
As you can see it has a scale that says "10cm". The purpose of this scale is to define how the material should look like, how large it is. SketchUp uses units, e.g ...

Re: Material Export Problems
I examined the problem further and found that the problem only occurs under certain circumstances. I think a few example images will explain what I mean:
I created a SketchUp model by importing a floor plan (using "File", "Import") and building the model on top of it. In attachment test4.png you ...

Re: Material Export Problems
I have exactly the same problem. The Octane Render material is too large, it seems to be scaled by factor 1000 or so. Is there really no solution for this problem yet?
Kind regards
Dominique

Re: German Translation
Oh yes, you are right, the translation of edges and vertices is probably not easy. My translation is also just a suggestion, if anyone wants to improve it, please don't hesitate to do it! It was just that I could not bear the existing translation ;-)
Luckily there were no edges or vertices in these ...

Re: German Translation
Yes, you are right, I thought about it and the correct translation for "Face" is probably "Fläche".
Face = Fläche
Edge = Kante
Vertex = Ecke
I made my diploma thesis in computer graphics (C++, OpenGL, QT) so I might be a little too much used to use the English words for these items. If you would ...

Hi!
Thank you for developing Octane Render!
But the German translation of the Sketchup exporter is terrible. If you like (and I think it would be really much better!) please use the corrected/improved translation attached to this message. I am a native German speaker and can assure you that it is ...
