Re: Having trouble getting texture emission to work properly

Use an emission node and use the image as the texture/efficiency input. For better realism you can mix this emitting material with a smooth glossy material for some reflections or glare. There is a material like that in liveDB (Materials » Misc » matte screen).

Having trouble getting texture emission to work properly...

I have been trying to create a tv screen/computer display using texture emission, but I can't seem to get the texture to properly light up. Could someone post some tips or their process for setting up texture emission? I'd greatly appreciate it.

Note: I'll be posting images tomorrow to show the ...

Re: Bretchts New Blender Render Design

No matter the similarities, I for one will continue using Octane. For one, after viewing a few videos, I'm fairly certain he attempted to steal as much of the idea as possible.
As such I will stick to brand loyalty here, and continue support for RS. And second, you guys are already ahead on the ...

Re: Roman Museum

Any tips on determining just how much to raise/lower the AO? Any simple rules of thumb for it?
Also, last time I was told that I need to perform renders with interesting shot placement. Do these photo's have an interesting angle?
How could I improve the "shots"? :geek:

Re: Roman Museum

To Elvis...Yehhh...i decided to take everyones advice on the watermark. Does look a hell of a lot better.
And to GK, thanks for the tip. I haven't really understood a lot of the options available and so haven't implemented them.
I'll try your tip right now. Again, much appreciated.

Roman Museum

Starting to come along...sorta.
I still need to work on the materials and textures.
I'm still working on adding objects to the scene and building up a realistic layout.
All rendered in direct-lighting.

Use film index on the eyes as well...the eyes are multi-faceted and reflect colors dependent on the angle.
