Passes are explained just on top of your post : )
AE compositing :
-vector mask to separate the foreground (sofa and wall) of the video shooting.
-put your black and white sequence (alpha) layer on top of your colored sequence layer and apply "luminance de silhouette" (you'll have to ...

Re: A robot in my living room
Hi,
Sure,
I used a trick seen on this forum. I can't remenber were it was and from who (sorry) but the thing is a little like you already done I think.
For alpha :
use a pure white diffuse material for the ground.
Use a pure Black diffuse material for the object.
ajust your lighting, background ...

Thanks,
to be more precise, the model and textures are not from me.
The animation is a mocap.
What I did :
- character rigging
- mocap assignment and ajustments
- complete matchmove process
- spherical environnent hdr creation (to fit with my living room video shooting).

A robot in my living room
Hi,
A very very short match move animation.
The compositing process is a little bit heavy as there is no alpha and mat shadows yet but it is doable with some tricks.

Re: massage frog camera tracking
Hi,
@Henrik
If you are looking for camera tracking soft I would advice to try those :
SynthEyes, Boujou, PFTrack, voodoo (this last one is free).
@radiant
I used the renders of the 3d soft (which contains alpha chanel) and then used it in after effects to make a mask.

massage frog camera tracking
A very quick exemple of camera tracking using octane render as renderer.
A little bit of post prod for shadows and alpha chanel (as octane doesn't support alpha background and matte shaders yet).

Re: Beta 2.2 RC1: Maya plugin testing thread
Hi Bazuka,
In reference to a post that I just put by error in max section, I was wondering why the maya plugin has not the "Roll" checkbox ?
My exports don't fit the maya camera because it seem that the Roll is no taken in count.
Will this option will be available? or did I miss something ...

Re: camera parameters don't match
Sorry this post is not at the right place.
In fact this problem is only a maya plugin issue.
With 3dsmax plugin this issue is solved by checkin the "Roll" checkbox wich I can't find in maya plugin
